Understand the available subscription plans, how usage is tracked, and how to manage your subscription.

Subscription plans

ScribeScoop offers several subscription tiers to accommodate different usage levels. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of transcription minutes and varying levels of access to features.

The available tiers are:

  • Free -- A limited plan for trying out ScribeScoop. Includes a small monthly transcription allowance.
  • Plus -- For individuals who record meetings regularly. Includes a larger monthly minute allowance and higher rate limits.
  • Professional -- For power users and small teams. Includes a generous monthly allowance with higher processing limits.
  • Enterprise -- For organizations with high-volume transcription needs. Includes the highest allowances and priority support.

How usage is tracked

Your usage is measured in transcription minutes. Each time you process a recording, the duration of the audio file is deducted from your monthly allowance. Key details:

  • Usage is calculated based on the duration of the audio file, not the processing time.
  • Summarization does not consume additional minutes. Only the transcription step counts toward your usage.
  • Usage resets at the beginning of each calendar month.
  • Unused minutes do not roll over to the next month.

Checking your usage

You can check your current usage in two places:

  • Desktop application sidebar -- When the sidebar is expanded, a usage bar at the bottom shows your minutes used, minutes remaining, and a visual progress indicator.
  • Web dashboard -- The Dashboard page shows your monthly usage statistics including minutes used, minutes remaining, and the number of transcriptions this period.

Rate limits

In addition to monthly minute allowances, each plan has rate limits that control how many requests you can make in a short period:

  • Per-minute limit -- The maximum number of processing requests you can make within a 60-second window.
  • Per-day limit -- The maximum number of processing requests you can make in a single day.

If you exceed a rate limit, the application will show an error message. Wait a moment and try again. Higher-tier plans have higher rate limits.

Subscribing or upgrading

  1. Sign in to the web dashboard and navigate to the Billing page.
  2. Review the available plans and their features.
  3. Click Subscribe on the plan you want. You will be redirected to a secure checkout page powered by Stripe.
  4. Complete the payment process. Your plan is upgraded immediately and the new limits take effect right away.

Downgrading or cancelling

Subscription changes and cancellations are managed through the Billing page. If you cancel your subscription, your plan reverts to the Free tier at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to your paid features until the period ends.

What happens when you reach your limit

If you attempt to process a recording after using all of your monthly transcription minutes, the application will display an error indicating that your usage limit has been reached. To continue processing:

  • Wait until the next month when your allowance resets, or
  • Upgrade to a higher-tier plan with more minutes.

Previously processed recordings remain accessible regardless of your current usage. Cached results can always be viewed, copied, and exported.
