Account & Settings
Manage your ScribeScoop account, configure application settings, and customize your experience.
Desktop application settings
Open settings by clicking Settings in the sidebar. The settings panel includes the following sections.
Account
Displays the email address associated with your current session. To sign out of the desktop application, click Sign Out. This clears your stored tokens and returns you to the login screen.
Summary profile
Shows the name of your currently active summary profile. Click Manage to open the Profile Manager where you can view, create, edit, and delete summary profiles. See Summary Profiles for full details.
Font size
A slider that controls the base font size of the application interface. The range is 75% to 150%, with 100% as the default. Use the Reset button to return to the default size. This setting is saved and applied automatically on future sessions.
Theme
Toggle between dark and light mode using the theme button in the title bar. Dark mode is the default. Your preference is saved and persists across application restarts.
Web account settings
The web dashboard provides additional account management options at the Account page. Sign in at doscribe.io and navigate to Account from the top navigation.
Profile information
Your account page displays:
- Display name -- Editable. Click on the field, change the name, and save.
- Email address -- Shown for reference. Cannot be changed from this page.
- Subscription tier -- Your current plan is displayed as a badge.
- Role -- Your account role (typically "user") is shown as a badge.
Changing your password
To change your password from the web dashboard:
- Navigate to the Account page.
- Enter your new password in the password field.
- The password strength indicator shows which requirements are met. Your password must include:
- At least 8 characters
- An uppercase letter
- A lowercase letter
- A number
- A special character
- Once all requirements are met, click Update Password.
Signing out
Click the Sign Out button on the Account page to end your web session. This does not sign you out of the desktop application; each session is independent.
Application data locations
The desktop application stores data in the following locations on Windows:
